It's been confirmed that the biggest video game event in the world has been greenlit for this year.
However, instead of its usual location in Los Angeles, E3 will be held digitally and free due to the still ongoing worldwide pandemic.
Xbox, Nintendo, Konami, Ubisoft, Take-Two Interactive, and Capcom have all confirmed they will be participating in the event, with more likely to follow. The most notable absentee of the gaming giants is Sony, who was also absent from E3 in 2019; and with last year's E3 being cancelled due to Covid-19, it wouldn't surprise me in the least if Sony went off and did their own thing. Nothing has been confirmed yet, but expect Bethesda to be present with some big news about Starfield.
ESO (Entertainment Software Association), who runs the event has yet to give away any clues as to the way in which the event will be presented.

Fans like myself will be expecting to see lots of new trailers, interviews and announcements. Since the whole event will be free to take part in and free to watch all over the world, there will be no VIP packages or any paywall features.
E3 has lost some of its spark over the past few years and I'm hoping this event will rekindle some of the magic that was lost.
For more than two decades, E3 had been the place to showcase the best that the video game industry had to offer. With studios and publishers giving gamers a first look at what games they were planning for future releases, it was the only place to get your massive gaming event fix.
Stanley Pierre-Louis, who runs the ESA said "We are evolving this year's E3 into a more inclusive event, but will still look to excite the fans with major reveals and insider opportunities that make this event the indispensable centre stage for video games."
This year's E3 event will run 12th-15th of June, though dates for Xbox and Bethesda have yet to be announced. Regardless, you should be able to watch the event on any of your devices.
For me personally, Xbox has had a brilliant start to this generation of consoles, and I'm so hyped to see what they and Bethesda have in store for us.
