My Expectations of Tiny Tina`s Wonderland
The new “borderlands” game is coming out in the next few weeks and the fan favourite Tiny Tina stars in what would be the 5th game (not including the Telltale series). With the trailers, past experiences of game releases, and every little thing from myself being a Borderlands fan, what are we to expect?
Please note – there are some spoilers if you haven't watched the in-game trailers. I will try to keep spoilers to a minimum.
Firstly, in true Borderlands fashion, we must expect that there will be humour throughout the whole game. If it's Lady Sharkira or some other spin-off celebrity or even making fun of Brexit, Borderlands has a history of adding a level of humour to engage with the audience. Tiny Tina is a perfect example with her instantly becoming a fan favourite in Borderlands 2 and already having her own DLC.
From the trailers, it seems like everything will be as true borderlands style with some unique twists. There are 4 classes as there were in BL3 and the map looks like good fun. We should expect the game to be big and immersive as all borderland games are, something that Borderlands has been able to do for many years.
I do believe that this will also be a great day 1 game. The reason for this, our last Borderlands was Borderlands 3 and it had an awful main story. The constant, now meme, “talk to Lilith” and just the bland storyline of the base game. I 100% believe Gearbox has learned from this, as we then got all the DLCs. These were some of the best content we have ever seen. It tied a lot of the loopholes the base game left and really made the game fit a lot better. Borderlands 3 was never bad, the mechanics, the guns, everything feels good, just the base game areas, cough Eden 6, were awful.
How could that become a factor?
It could become a factor because they learned and adapted to their mistakes. Granted yes, it was locked behind DLCs but they did show that they improved upon the base game. If Tiny Tina Wonderland is at the minimum, the same standard of the latest DLC I would be happy. I do want them to go even further and it to be the best Borderlands game of all time, finally knocking Borderlands 2 off its top spot, and with a fan favourite titling the game, it is the perfect opportunity.
Conclusion
From the trailers I have seen myself, the game looks great and is 100% worth the hype. I don’t want to spoil too much for those who haven't looked at any of the trailers but the characters look wicked, the guns look amazing and I highly recommend people to go watch their trailers ( we have one for you below). This is a perfect time to sink your teeth into Borderlands. Being a looter shooter, you have ample things to do. I expect this game to be brilliant and to play well. If the game has the mechanics of Borderlands 3 and then all the great storylines that the DLCs gave, I have no worries about this game. I have completed every other Borderlands game to date so you know where I will be in 3 weeks (at the time of writing)!
