Console war, nothing more than a slap fight.

Some people are Team Xbox, some are Team PlayStation, some are even Team Nintendo or Pc. But let’s be real, does any of it matter? Everything can be turned into a war, even fighting among themselves. Call of Duty versus Battlefield, AMD versus Intel, left versus right handed masturbation. No one can be wrong about an opinion, it’s just what you prefer. But recently there’s been a lot of fuel added to this fight. With major game company acquisitions going ahead there’s now arguments on all sides promoting their choice. I want us to look into that. With Xbox acquiring Activision Blizzard, and Sony grabbing Bungie, who’s winning?

Nobody. Nobody is winning, let me explain why. With nearly 70 billion dollars being tossed around companies in the last few weeks to try and get a leg up over the other, we need to stop and think, what’s Nintendo doing? They’re not spending vast amounts of money on grabbing game studios, they’re not boasting their vast catalogue of games or exclusives. They just exist, and they’re doing amazingly well because of it. The random guy who designed a sword swing from Diablo 2, does he care his game is now a Xbox domain? Does the person who shaded in a part of a rock from a Destiny raid care that it belongs to Sony now? They don’t see that money. It doesn’t change their job. If the people who make these games, and their entire livelihood is behind it don’t care about this petty console war, why should we, the people who literally aren’t affected in anyway, care?

Many of us own multiple platforms, and game on all of them. Making jokes and memes about the console war is fun, but would you really go out of your way to storm up to a PlayStation player and belittle them publicly in front everyone? It’s pointless, so why do it online? Jokes are one thing, but toxicity is another. All too often we see dismissive and abusive comments about all sides. I for one, am a huge Xbox fanboy, going so far as being a part of the microsoft family itself. And I am extremely happy about the Activision Blizzard buyout. But I don’t want exclusives, I play call of duty with my PS5 friend often, and we don’t discuss or compare the console. We talk about how trash Warzone is sure, but that’s the beauty of crossplay. Everyone can experience how awful things are, together.

I also applaud Sony on purchasing Bungie, such a great company has really fallen far, and a move like this could be good for them, I wouldn’t be sad about losing access to bungie games, but I would feel a little low to see such a legendary company get lost to the ages due to poor decisions and leaving their legacy behind with Destiny 2.

I want to know, and I mean really know, what your favorite platform is. And coming from an Xbox man, in an Xbox group, I’ll start, the Nintendo 64, will for me, be the greatest console ever. And nothing Xbox or PlayStation can ever do will take that away from me. So please, stop the console war, and share with us, your favorite console and why, whether it’s a ps5, Xbox original or even a Wii U, join any of our socials and use the hashtag #BestConsole to let me know, or message me directly, and you can have your day voiced in our next article.
